Having worked in the industry for 20 years Barrie wanted to bring a fresh approach to Estate Agency and in the summer of 1990 Barrie started the company at our office on Southover Street, Hanover. He quickly dispensed with the tired cliché of a suit and tie and adopted a more casual look. Barrie started the company with the same honest, professional and friendly approach that he has become known for throughout Brighton.
Barrie has always believed in giving back to the community and has been the main local sponsors for the Hanover Beer Festival and the Art Trail for the past eighteen years.
The company is in favour of the reassurance and professionalism that being part of trading bodies brings and as such became only the second Estate Agents and the only combined Estate and Letting Agent in Brighton & Hove to be approved by Trading Standards through the Buy With Confidence Scheme. The company is also members of the NAEA, ARLA, NALS, OEA, BHEA and TDS.
Due to the increased interest from both landlords and a notable demand for letting in Hanover Barrie’s wife Geraldine joined the company in 1997 in order to manage the lettings side of the business. Once again Geraldine brought with her the same professional and approachable manor which has lead to the companies growth; the majority of which has come through word of mouth recommendations.
Barrie is a former President of the Brighton & Hove Estate Agents & Auctioneers Association. Co-directors Geraldine and daughter Vicky are also members, with Vicky currently acting as the Secretary of the Association. Son Peter, who is also a Director is currently training as the companies accountant and nephew Andrew Addison is an Associate Director, a true family business.
Having thoroughly embedded itself in the local community and become the leading agency in the Hanover area of Brighton the company is still committed to improving it’s service and growing. In May 2010 the company opened its second office, located near Preston Circus on London Road in order to expand the companies presence out to the Preston Park and Lewes Road areas of Brighton.
In May 2010 Danielle Blakeley joined as the company's new Lettings Manager and has been running our office at London Road. Danielle has a number of years experience in lettings and has fully embraced her new role as Lettings Manager.
