Looking after your home over the Festive period

Tue 18 Dec 2018

Now that winter is approaching and the weather is changing here is some helpful information on how best to maintain your home.

One of the main problems that our tenants tell us they experience is with condensation and the black mould that results from it.  This is quite different from damp and can be prevented by taking some quick and easy measures such as heating and airing the property.  Further informatin can be found at https://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/content/housing/general-housing/condensation-and-damp

It is also important that your pipes are not allowed to freeze during the winter as this is your responsibility to ensure they don’t.  This has proved to be a problem especially when people go away over the Christmas period; we advise that you use your timer to ensure the property is adequately heated.

Don’t forget that the banks will be closed on all bank holidays so please make sure you have made arrangements for your rent to be paid on time.

Thank you for taking the time to read this information.  If you do experience any problems with your property please contact us as soon as possible by emailing maintenance@barriealderton.co.uk, remember that at the end of a day or on a Friday afternoon it will be more difficult to get a tradesman to attend.

From All of us at Barrie Aldertons we would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
